E-Genting Bug Hunt 2016

The Faculty of Engineering and Computing is pleased to share the good news that two students from the BSc (Hons) Software Engineering, Year 2 won prizes at the E-Genting Bug Hunt 2016:

(1) Choo Han Lim - First Prize Award

      He received the prize from Ms Siti Norliza binti Mohd Sahar, Director, Talent Enablement, MDEC.

(2) Seow Wen Han - Merit Award

IBM System z/OS Refresher Course

On Thursday, 27 March 2014, four lecturers from the School of Engineering and Computing attended the IBM System z/OS refresher course at IBM Innovation Center, IBM Plaza.  The course was conducted by Mr Amjad Rehman, System z Technical Sales Leader, Systems and Technology Group ASEAN from IBM.

The topics reviewed were:

• The new mainframe
• Hardware Systems and LPARs
• Parallel Sysplex
• WebSphere Application Server on z/OS
• WebSphere MQ
• Overview of system programming
• IPL Process
• Using SMPE
• Security on z/OS
• Network Communications on z/OS         

iOS Development Programme - Essential Training

It was a privilege to attend a 5-day training on iOS development at the Apple Training Center, from 2 December to 6 December 2013.  The training was attended by 2 lecturers and 4 students from the School of Engineering and Computing.
